Hunter Scott Executive Search produced a report outlining the imbalance of minority sectors, along with findings from our survey on diversity in the commercial property sector.
Did you know?
Ethnically diverse companies are 36% and gender diverse companies are 25% more likely to have financial returns above national industry medians.
Yet….
Only 18% of senior executives in commercial real estate are female, and of them, 0.4% are people from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) background, amongst only 2% the wider real estate sector.
This is well below the national average for 51% females and 15% for BAME.
This is also below the industry standard for FTSE 100 companies where female executives make up 24% of board level roles and in FTSE 250 companies, Black, Asian or Minority Ethnicities make up 10% of boards and just 5% of CEOs.
What our survey revealed
